Last year, we had the pleasure of welcoming Søren Okholm into the studio to record two songs for his upcoming singles. The sessions were driven by a strong musical vision—and supported by an exceptional band. Henrik West laid down the bass with his characteristic groove, Christian Warburg brought both texture and precision on guitars, and Nikolaj Bundvig delivered dynamic, expressive drum performances. Together, they created a tight and inspiring instrumental foundation for Søren’s songs.

One of the tracks called for a rich background vocal arrangement to lift the emotional core of the production. To make room for the details he had in mind, Søren chose to continue working on the choir parts from home. We provided him with the session stems, giving him the freedom to shape the background vocals in his own space and at his own pace.

Layer by layer, he recorded the harmonies himself, carefully building the arrangement until it matched the sound he’d envisioned. When he returned the finished stems, it was clear that the combination of studio precision, strong instrumental performances, and Søren’s dedicated vocal work had created something special. The choir parts blended beautifully with the band’s recordings, adding depth and warmth to the track.

This project is a great example of how modern workflows can empower artists—uniting the energy of a live studio band with the flexibility of at-home creativity. It’s been inspiring to watch Søren bring these songs to life, and we’re excited for listeners to experience the final singles when they’re released.
